Originally hailing from various corners of Wales, the band now live, work and play in London. Channelling the hippest in Blues, Bop and Boogaloo, Fraser and the Alibis play fiery, fresh jazz, deeply entrenched in the roots of the music. After meeting at a top UK conservatoire some ten years ago they have played and toured together continuously, covering a lot of ground. Festival gigs include London, Cheltenham, Birmingham and Brecon. The band have also held residencies at some of the hippest East London clubs including the Vortex. Over the years they have played Europe’s most prestigious venue Ronnie Scotts a number of times with various other outfits. Influences include the big tenor sounds of Dexter Gordon, Jimmy Smith’s screaming Organ, Papa Jo Jones’ driving beats feel and Barney Kessel’s melancholic guitar tone.
